Netanyahu Adviser Urges Trump-Netanyahu Push to Remove Iran's Regime Ahead of Israeli Vote

Ophir Falk, the prime minister's foreign policy adviser, says the Trump-Netanyahu partnership is the right one to remove Iran's leadership, as Israelis prepare to vote on October 27.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's foreign policy adviser has called for the removal of Iran's government, arguing that Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump are the right pair to carry it out. Ophir Falk made the case in written remarks to The Jerusalem Post, sent ahead of Israel's election on Tuesday.

"Removing the genocidal Ayatollah regime in Iran is in the best interests of America, Israel, and civilization," Falk said. He added that "the Trump-Netanyahu team has shown to be suited to do so."

Falk said the central question facing voters is who should lead Israel during the last two years of Trump's presidency. He framed it as a matter of partnership: "Who will best cooperate and coordinate with the President to finish the job in Iran and expand peace in the region?"

Trump weighed in on Sunday evening, renewing his endorsement of Netanyahu and urging Israelis to support him in the October 27 vote. "Vote for Bibi Netanyahu for Prime Minister; we have to finish the job that we started!" the president wrote on Truth Social.

Falk set that backing against what he described as the wishes of Israel's opponents. "Trump wants to work with Netanyahu," he said. "At the same time, Israel's enemies, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and, of course, Iran, want Netanyahu to lose."

He also offered a broad assessment of the strategic picture. "Israel and the American-Israeli alliance have never been stronger, and Iran and its proxies have never been weaker," Falk said.

The adviser had spoken on the subject earlier. In an October 15 interview with the Post, he said Israel was "very close" to creating the conditions for regime change in Iran. Even then, he stressed that the final decision rests with Iranians themselves. "Regime change in Iran is up to the Iranian people," he said.

His written comments ahead of the election did not lay out how the United States and Israel should work toward removing Iran's leadership, and they gave no timetable.
