OKLAHOMA CITY. The Oklahoma City Thunder are preparing for an emotional reunion on Monday morning following the injury to Jalen Williams during Sunday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Head coach Mark Daigneault said the team is focused on assessing the player's condition before worrying about their next opponent.

The Thunder closed out the contest against the Clippers, but the mood in the locker room reflected the impact of the injury more than the final score. Daigneault described the group as struggling to find footing after the event. “We’re not doing great,” he said. “That’s tough on the guys. Everyone empathizes. I think both teams in those situations.”

The team is scheduled to meet at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. This gathering is designed to give players and coaches a chance to check on Williams and process the events of the previous evening. Daigneault noted that bringing the group together helps them navigate difficult moments. “I think it’s good to get around each other when you get through some tough situations,” he said. “We’ll come in, we’ll regroup tomorrow, and see where we’re at, see how Jalen’s doing.”

Daigneault declined to provide specific medical updates on Williams' condition after the game. He also said the team will evaluate Cason Wallace and Jaylin Williams on Monday. Additional information about those players will be shared when the coaching staff deems it appropriate. The uncertainty surrounding the health of multiple players remains a primary concern for Oklahoma City.

Support for Williams came from inside the arena as fans began chanting his nickname, “J-Dub.” Daigneault expressed appreciation for the reaction from the crowd and the concern shown by the Clippers organization. “I think anybody that’s in the arena can empathize with that,” he said. “So appreciate our fans for doing so, appreciate the Clippers for doing so.”

The Thunder have another game on the schedule for Monday night. This leaves little time for the team to recover emotionally before returning to the court. Daigneault said the team will continue moving forward with the season, but the immediate step involves caring for their teammates. “Obviously the schedule’s gonna keep rolling and we’ll keep rolling with it,” he said.
